The original Gyotaku print (fish and ink on rice paper) was started late in 2019 year and completed in September 2020 for a local sushi\/ramen restaurant in Charlotte, NC.\u00a0 The original piece doubles as a sound baffle to absorb ambient noise during service.\u00a0 \u00a0Keeping with the restaurant’s theme, I created the Gyotaku to provide another visual element and to compliment the rest of their decor.<\/p>\n
Each inked fish was painstakingly arranged to create a school as they swim in formation.\u00a0 Final touches to the fins and other details were then added to complete the swimming school.<\/p>\n
